Support the Tanah Abang Residents' Declaration on Eradicating Tramadol, Police: Need to Work Together with the Community
JAKARTA - The declaration of a number of residents of Tanah Abang regarding the eradication of the circulation of tramadol and other prohibited drugs in their area is fully supported by the Tanah Abang Metro Police.
"Regarding the declaration, that is what we need, because the National Police cannot carry out or conduct this examination itself," said the Head of the Tanah Abang Metro Police, AKBP Dhimas Prasetyo, Sunday, August 9, 2026.
Furthermore, the Police Chief said that the problems that occurred in the region required the active role of the community to create a conducive atmosphere.
"Every problem in society certainly needs the active role of the community. In this case, it requires togetherness, communication, coordination, collaboration," he said.
AKBP Dhimas hopes that any action or activity in the circulation of tramadol and other prohibited drugs that disturb the community can be immediately reported to the nearest police station.
"It is hoped that every action or activity that disturbs the community, especially tramadol, will immediately be reported to the police, police, and the Regional Police to be followed up," he said.
The police chief emphasized that his party had carried out law enforcement in the Tanah Abang area, specifically in the area of circulation of prohibited drugs that had gone viral on social media.
"Before this declaration, we have made arrests of tramadol. If you want to know the data, maybe I can explain, if I'm not mistaken, there have been many," he said.
In addition, the Tanah Abang Metro Police have also deployed personnel and set up a guard post around the location.
"We have also placed a post with the Police, the government's support is already there. What is hoped for, this declaration is what we are waiting for the active role of the community. The post in Pospol Tanah Abang has been placed by members since last month, it has been running for a month. Even before that, we carried out a stationary raid, the police also placed personnel," he said.
The police chief emphasized that his party was not hesitant to take action against perpetrators of illegal drug dealers of tramadol, hexymer and others operating in the Tanah Abang area.
"There is no RJ, there is none. There has never been a perpetrator in RJ (restorative justice). If there is, give me the data, I'll check it. If there are members (of the National Police) who are playing around, let me know. We are not playing around with tramadol," he concluded.
Previously, it was reported that residents of Tanah Abang along with the Coordinating Forum of the Head of the Central Jakarta City (Forkopimko), TNI, Polri, to the mass organizations moved together to eradicate the circulation of Tramadol and narcotics which were considered increasingly disturbing.
This movement was initiated with a joint apple attended by various elements of the community along the West Flood Canal, Petamburan Village, Friday, August 7, 2026.
The apple was closed with the reading of a declaration of attitude led by the Chairman of the House of Tenabang (RGT), Haji Heru Nuryaman. In his declaration, there were seven points of demands from residents who were uneasy with the circulation of Tramadol in their area.
First, residents reject all forms of abuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics, Tramadol, psychotropic substances, and other addictive substances.
"Second, fully support efforts to prevent, eradicate the misuse, and circulation of Tramadol, psychotropic substances, and other addictive substances," said Haji Heru.
