TNBTS Closes All Bromo Tourist Access to Effective Blackout

MALANG - The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) closed all tourist access to Mount Bromo to effectively extinguish fires in the area, as of Saturday at 22.00 WIB.

Head of the TNBTS Headquarters Rudijanta Tjahja Nugraha through an official statement received in Malang City, East Java, said that the decision to close this was based on the current conditions in the field, where the fire in the Bromo Caldera area is spreading.

"In order to effectively extinguish the fire, visits to Bromo from all entrances are closed for tourist visits," said Rudi.

The access to Mount Bromo tourism includes five entrances spread across four areas, namely Cemorolawang in Probolinggo Regency, Wonokitri in Pasuruan Regency, Jemplang and Coban Trisula in Malang Regency, and Senduro in Lumajang Regency.

Not only concerning the effectiveness of the blackout, the implementation of the closure takes into account the safety and security of all visitors.

"(Closure) until an undetermined time limit," he said.

The TNBTS Headquarters ensures that every tourist who has purchased an entrance ticket to the Bromo Mountain area via the bookingonlined application and chooses the right day of visit during the implementation of the closure, will be given the opportunity to reschedule.

In addition, travelers are also given the option of a refund or refund by the TNBTS Headquarters.

The public will be asked to first complete the form listed on the booking online page.

Rudi appealed to all tourism service business actors not to carry out any activities in the TNBTS area.

"This is for the sake of safety, security, and mutual safety," he said.

Based on the video uploaded by the TNBTS Headquarters on the official Instagram page of the institution, the fire appeared to be raging in a cliff area near the Tengger Caldera Ring Road (JLKT) area.

In the video, an officer said that the fire also spread towards Mount Kursi, which is still located in the TNBTS area.
