Government Cautious in Revising Regulation on Gym Industry

JAKARTA - Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya said that the government was careful in drafting a revision of Presidential Regulation Number 19 of 2024 concerning the Acceleration of the Development of the National Gim Industry.

He said that the discussion of the revision of the regulation involved 25 ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Communication and Digital and the Ministry of Trade.

"We are arranging very carefully, of course, include the stakeholders not only in the government but in other hexahelixy, and God willing it will work," he said in a discussion event at the Indonesian Game Day (HARGAI) 2026 event at the Garuda Sparks Innovation Hub, Central Jakarta, Saturday.

According to him, industry players, academics, and the community also provided suggestions and inputs regarding the revision of regulations on the acceleration of the development of the gymnastics industry.

"Now the stage will enter the harmonization stage and of course this needs our joint support," he said.

The revision of the regulation on the acceleration of the development of the gymnastics industry is carried out to adjust the regulation to the current needs and conditions.

In addition to special regulations on the development of the gaming industry, Presidential Regulation Number 37 of 2026 concerning the Creative Economy Master Plan 2026-2045 has been issued to support the development of creative economic enterprises, including the development of the gaming industry.

The government's strategy to support the development of creative economic enterprises includes financing, marketing, training, and investment aspects.

The Ministry of Creative Economy also carries out programs to support the development of gim and facilitates gim business actors to enter the global market.
