Motul x Von Dutch Brings Indonesian Custom Culture to the World Stage

JAKARTA - Motul Indonesia again collaborates with Von Dutch Indonesia in a collaboration titled "Kustom Kulture Beyond Borders". This campaign is a platform to celebrate the fusion of automotive culture, streetwear, and custom culture that has always been attached to the characters of both brands.

Through this collaboration, driving activity is not only seen as mobility, but also part of a lifestyle. Motul and Von Dutch also want to strengthen their closeness to the automotive community that is developing through various cultures and creativity.

The cooperation between the two brands has started since 2025. The common vision and attachment to the automotive world are the foundation of collaboration that not only produces joint products, but also presents an experience for the community to gather, interact, and express their love for the automotive world.

For Motul, Von Dutch is considered to have a close relationship with various elements of automotive culture, ranging from the two-wheeled community, classic cars, to custom culture. This collaboration is also Motul's step to expand its communication into the lifestyle realm, but still carries the identity as a high-performance lubricant brand.

On the other hand, Von Dutch translates the spirit of driving through a distinctive design approach. Authentic visual characters are combined with automotive elements to produce products that carry a strong identity and represent freedom of expression.

Kustom Kulture Beyond Borders itself takes inspiration from American Kustom Kulture, classic racing, to vintage racing nuances. Elements such as garages, workshops, pinstriping, and motorsport heritage are combined with the Von Dutch character which is known for being rebellious, bold, and authentic.

The concept was then translated into a collection that not only emphasizes the appearance, but also carries the spirit of automotive culture that can be accepted across generations. Freedom of expression and love of vehicles are the common thread of the collaboration between Motul and Von Dutch.

In the first collaboration, Motul brought Motul 5100 4T as the main product. The lubricant with Technosynthese Ester technology is intended for daily use to touring needs with a focus on a combination of performance and reliability.

Now, the collaboration continues by raising Motul 7100 4T. This 100% Synthetic Ester lubricant is designed to provide high performance and optimal engine protection, especially for riders who need more than their vehicle.

"For Motul, automotive is not only about vehicles and performance, but also about culture, passion, creativity, and the community that grows within it. Through Kustom Kulture Beyond Borders, we want to present an experience that brings together Motul performance with the character and spirit of custom culture that is so strong," said Managing Director of PT Motul Indonesia Energy, Welmart Purba, quoted from official statement, Saturday, August 8.

Not stopping at products, Motul and Von Dutch also prepared a number of activities involving the community. One of them was held through the digital realm with a Photo Competition, which invited riders to showcase their driving style as well as their best outfit using the Motul x Von Dutch collection.

Direct activities are also presented through the Sunday Cruisin' and Museum Tour Experience at Vault Automotive Museum. Participants are invited to make a Sunday ride before heading to the Vault Automotive Museum to see various classic vehicles and automotive artifacts that have historical value.

This activity is part of the efforts of both brands in creating an experience that brings together elements of riding, heritage, and lifestyle. In addition, activities with the community are expected to further strengthen the relationship between Motul and Von Dutch with automotive enthusiasts.

This spirit of collaboration was then brought to a global level through the presence of the Motul x Von Dutch booth at the MOONEYES Street Car Nationals in Odaiba, Japan. The event, known as one of the prestigious custom culture festivals, became a stage for both brands to introduce the results of the collaboration to automotive enthusiasts from various countries.

The presence in Japan also shows that collaborative works born in Indonesia have the opportunity to get the attention of the international automotive community. The custom culture that is developing in various countries also becomes a space for Motul and Von Dutch to build a wider connection.

"We hope that this collaboration does not stop at a product or campaign, but can continue to create relevant experiences for the community. The spirit of Custom Kulture Beyond Borders is also proof that the love of automobiles has no limits and can be a language that connects various communities in the world," he concluded.

Through Kustom Kulture Beyond Borders, Motul Indonesia and Von Dutch Indonesia want to show that automotive has a much broader dimension than just vehicle performance. Identity, creativity, community, and lifestyle are important parts that continue to grow together with the automotive culture.
