China Opens World's Largest AI Computing Industrial Park in Inner Mongolia

JAKARTA - Chinese government media reported that the Bamboo Curtain launched the world's largest artificial intelligence (AI) computing industrial park.

Located in Ulanqab, the northern region of Inner Mongolia, the facility called Envision Galaxy Campus began operating on Thursday. The environmentally friendly technology company Envision Group describes this facility as the largest single AI data center in the world based on token output capacity, Anadolu reported from Global Times (7/8).

The campus is also China's largest AI computing industrial park, with a planned capacity of 2 gigawatt.

With an area of 120,000 square meters, this facility is designed to support computing power of up to one million graphics processing units (GPUs) operating in parallel.

Interestingly, according to the company, more than 80 percent of its electricity needs are supplied directly from renewable energy sources.

This project is a flagship development in Envision's "Mission Gobi" initiative, which aims to build 5 gigawatt of environmentally friendly AI computing capacity in desert and arid regions around the world by 2030, through a combination of large-scale data centers with renewable energy and energy storage systems.
