Rosan admits Bahlil left a strong foundation at BKPM, his job is easier

JAKARTA - The Minister of Investment and Industrialization/Head of BKPM and Head of BPI Danandatara Rosan Roeslani admitted that Bahlil Lahadalia left a strong foundation at the Ministry of Investment and BKPM before he took over the post.

Rosan said that the foundation made his job as Bahlil's successor easier.

The statement was made by Rosan when attending Bahlil's 50th birthday and the launch of 10 books at the Jakarta Theater, Friday, August 7.

"I also thank you, Mr. Bahlil, for having laid a very strong foundation at the Investment Ministry and at BKPM, so that my task is easier to continue," said Rosan.

He even called Bahlil a minister who built the foundation of the agency's work, while he just continued.

"So the minister is Mr. Bahlil, I am only his successor at the Investment Ministry," he said.

Rosan did not elaborate on what foundations or policies he meant in his remarks.

However, he said he had known Bahlil for more than 20 years, long before the two of them occupied positions in the government.

According to Rosan, the relationship between the two of them has been established since Bahlil had not become the Chairman of HIPMI Papua and the General Chairman of HIPMI.

Rosan said that the ability to maintain relationships, courage, perseverance, and ingenuity were the characters he saw from Bahlil a long time ago.

He also admitted that from the beginning he had told Bahlil that his career journey would be long and make him an influential figure from East Indonesia.

"Adinda, your journey is long. Adinda will be a figure from the East who will be influential, a big person. Trust me," said Rosan recalling his message to Bahlil.
