JAKARTA - The Association of Startups for Industry Indonesia (Starfindo) targets an increase in investment and expansion of global market access for industrial startups after Maulana Wiga was officially inaugurated as the General Chairman for the 2026-2029 period by the Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Thursday, August 6, 2026.
Under the new leadership, Starfindo will change the focus of the organization from merely organizing annual programs to being a catalyst for strengthening the ecosystem of technology-based manufacturing startups that are able to increase the competitiveness of the national industry.
Maulana said that one of the main agendas of his administration was to strengthen partnerships between startups, investors, industrial companies, governments, and universities to accelerate the commercialization of innovation.
"Indonesian startups have a lot of potential innovations, but still face challenges in obtaining investments, increasing production capacity, and entering the international market," said Maulana in an official statement.
Therefore, Starfindo will encourage the formation of collaboration with domestic and international investors as well as opening access for startups to the global supply chain.
In addition to expanding financing, the organization will also strengthen the adoption of technology in the industrial sector so that startup innovation does not stop at the product development stage, but is able to create economic value for the business world.
Maulana added that the organization's governance would also be strengthened through digitization, transparency in budget management, and data-based management systems to improve the organization's professionalism.
Meanwhile, Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita assessed that the existence of Starfindo is an important part of strengthening the national startup ecosystem which is able to increase the efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness of the Indonesian industry.
According to Agus, industrial startups have a strategic role in accelerating the digital transformation of the manufacturing sector while encouraging the birth of innovations that have added value for the national economy.
"This reflects the government's commitment to strengthening the national innovation ecosystem through strategic collaboration with organizations focused on talent development and digital transformation," he added.
