Residents of Tanah Abang Hold Joint Declaration with Forkopimko to Eradicate Tramadol

JAKARTA - Residents of Tanah Abang along with the Coordinating Forum of the Head of the Central Jakarta City (Forkopimko), TNI, Polri, to the mass elements moved together to eradicate the circulation of illegal drugs of the Tramadol and narcotics type which are considered increasingly disturbing.

This movement was initiated with a joint apple attended by various elements of the community, ranging from residents, organizations, Scouts, Jakmania, clerics, to mosque and musala managers throughout Tanah Abang District along the West Flood Canal, Petamburan Village, Friday, August 7, 2026.

The elements of Forkopimko who attended included the Mayor of Central Jakarta Arifin, the Head of the Central Jakarta Metro Police AKBP Mirzal Maulana, as well as the ranks of the Tanah Abang Police and Koramil.

The apple was closed with the reading of a declaration of attitude led by the Chairman of the House of Tenabang (RGT), Haji Heru Nuryaman.

In their declaration, there were seven points of demands from residents who were uneasy with the circulation of Tramadol in their area.

First, residents reject all forms of abuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics, Tramadol, psychotropic substances, and other addictive substances.

"Second, fully support efforts to prevent, eradicate the misuse, and circulation of Tramadol, psychotropic substances, and other addictive substances," said Haji Heru, who was greeted with takbir by the community.

The third point is that residents are committed to protecting themselves, their families, and their surrounding environment from the dangers of the bad influence of illegal drugs and drugs.

Furthermore, they are ready to cooperate with law enforcement apparatus and authorized agencies to report all forms of abuse of prohibited drugs and narcotics.

"The fifth point is determined to realize a healthy, smart, creative, and productive generation without drugs for the future of the nation and the younger generation of Tanah Abang in particular.

Haji Heru emphasized that the people of Tanah Abang were determined to be ready to fight and fight against all forms of illegal drug and drug trafficking, whatever the risk.

"The last point, we ask the last message to the National Police Chief, the TNI Commander, the Head of the BNN, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, the Police Chief, the Jaya Commander, the Police Chief, the Dandim, the Police Chief, and law enforcement personnel: Don't be silent!," said Haji Heru.

He asked the police and related institutions to synergize with the public to fight drugs and illegal drugs that threaten and damage the nation's generation.

"Make Indonesia Gold, don't make Indonesia anxious. Tanah Abang is calling, Take Care of Jakarta, Take Care of Jakarta for Indonesia," shouted Haji Heru in the declaration.

After the declaration, residents then held a long march around the Tanah Abang shopping center while calling for a ban on tramadol.

Haji Heru revealed that the actions and demands of the residents were based on deep concern.

According to him, the prevalence of this illegal drug is not at all part of the culture or tradition of the people of Tanah Abang, especially the Betawi people.

"The demand is simple. There was a declaration, the demand is that we strongly reject the circulation of Tramadol, illegal drugs, and drugs in Tanah Abang. It all started from concern. Our concern as residents of Tanah Abang, which is indeed not a culture or tradition of the people of Tanah Abang itself, let alone from the Betawi people, there is no such tradition," he said.

He hopes that the Forkopimko can follow up on this action with concrete steps to enforce, so that the Tanah Abang area can be conducive again and support the priority programs of the Mayor of Central Jakarta.

Based on observations by residents, the illegal drug sellers have been operating in Tanah Abang for approximately the past year, involving local residents and immigrants.

Haji Heru also revealed that residents had previously taken the initiative to carry out raids and arrests independently. However, the perpetrators often return to their actions because of the lack of deterrent effect and firm legal follow-up.

"We have made arrests, we have carried out raids, we have come out again, we have come out again, that's it. So there is no follow-up. There is no deterrent effect for sellers or distributors," he complained.

Therefore, residents demand that there be firm action without compromise both for sellers and buyers.

"To avoid these things, one, yes, we are clearly taking action, peaceful action. And secondly, we are trying to do positive activities through existing organizations. There are organizations, there are Karang Taruna. This is a consortium, a combination of us who are at the Guyub Tenabang House," he said.
