24 Students in Bogor Poisoned MBG, SPPG Dramaga Operation Temporarily Suspended

BOGOR - The Bogor Regency Government (Pemkab) has temporarily stopped the operation of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) kitchen in Dramaga District following the alleged food poisoning in the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program. The temporary suspension was carried out until the results of laboratory tests confirmed the cause of the incident.

Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto said the decision to temporarily stop the operation of SPPG was taken as a proactive step while waiting for the results of laboratory examinations on food samples.

"We will convey to the public based on data and facts. Currently we are ensuring where the source of the alleged poisoning comes from," said Rudy after reviewing patients at the Dramaga Health Center, Friday, August 7, quoted by Antara.

According to Rudy, the Bogor Regency Government together with the Health Office and Dramaga Health Center has taken samples of food to be examined at the Bogor Regency Regional Health Laboratory (Labkesda). The health team also conducted epidemiological tracing and data collection at a number of schools that benefited from the MBG Program.

In addition to temporarily stopping the operation of the SPPG kitchen, the Bogor Regency Government ensures that all residents undergoing treatment due to suspected poisoning receive health services without being charged.

"For treatment for suspected poisoning, all are covered by the Bogor Regency Government. Of course we will provide the best service for all people in the Bogor Regency," he said.

Until Friday morning, 24 people were suspected of poisoning after consuming food from the MBG Program. A total of 22 people are still undergoing treatment at the Dramaga Health Center, while two people have been allowed to go home because their condition has improved.

Rudy emphasized that the local government could not conclude the cause of the alleged poisoning before the results of the laboratory examination were completed. Therefore, all handling processes are carried out carefully so that the cause of the incident can be determined based on scientific evidence.

The temporary suspension of SPPG's kitchen operations has an impact on the provision of nutritious food services for approximately 2,666 beneficiaries in the Dramaga District area until the results of the investigation and laboratory tests are completed.
