President Trump Predicts War with Iran Will End Soon
JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump told reporters on Thursday that he believed the war with Iran would soon end, saying the armed forces were facing problems related to the supply of a number of weapons.
"I think this war will end in the near future. In my opinion, they will not be able to survive any longer," President Trump said while in the Oval Office, referring to Iran, launching Al Arabiya from Reuters (7/8).
Previously, Reuters reported on Tuesday that the US military had spent most of the global stockpile of high-precision long-range missiles during the five-month war against Iran.
When asked about the status of ammunition stocks, President Trump said the country had an almost unlimited supply of certain weapons, but admitted that other weapons stocks were limited.
"We have certain types of ammunition that are very powerful, which are unlimited in supply, or almost unlimited in supply. There are other types whose supplies are somewhat limited," said President Trump.
He said US defense companies are building more production plants, including facilities for Patriot and Tomahawk missiles.
