Not Yet Enjoying the Results of the Theft, a 25-Year-Old Man is Critical while Stealing High Voltage Cables

JAKARTA - A man with the initials SD (25) experienced an electric shock while stealing cables at the PLN substation on Jalan Agung Karya, Sunter Agung Village, Tanjung District, Priok, North Jakarta, Thursday afternoon, August 6.

The body of the perpetrator was bounced and fell when it was hit by the high voltage electric shock. The incident occurred at around 16.00 WIB.

"This perpetrator is a victim," said the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Tanjung Priok Police, AKP Handam Samudro when confirmed, Thursday evening.

The perpetrator was taken to Tanjung Priok Hospital for medical treatment. However, due to the victim's severe burns, he was referred to Kramat Jati Police Hospital.

AKP Handam said the incident began when the perpetrator entered the PLN substation to steal the cable. When he arrived at the inner area of the substation, the alleged perpetrator who saw the cable to be stolen tried to climb between the cable installation.

Suddenly the perpetrator was immediately bounced by an electric shock in the substation installation.

"The perpetrator suffered 70 percent burns. The perpetrator fell and bounced. The perpetrator is currently receiving intensive treatment at the hospital," he said.

Currently, the case is still being handled by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanjung Priok Police to uncover the network of theft of PLN's cable.
