8 Arab-Islamic Countries Condemn Israel's Violations in Gaza

JAKARTA - The foreign ministers of eight Arab and Islamic countries have condemned Israel's ongoing violations in the Gaza Strip, especially those targeting health facilities.

The foreign ministers also condemned the Zionist attacks on civilian infrastructure and the killing of civilians, including women and children, calling it a grave violation of international law and international humanitarian law.

Through a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia stated that the continued violations were a clear violation of Israel's obligations under international law and undermined international and regional efforts to end the war in Gaza.

They warned that these violations could derail the political process, trigger a new cycle of escalation, and exacerbate the humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip.

As reported by ANTARA from WAFA, Thursday, August 6, the foreign ministers emphasized the need to protect civilians and ensure that humanitarian aid, medical supplies, and emergency aid can be immediately delivered safely and unhindered to all areas of Gaza.

The foreign ministers also reiterated their countries' firm rejection of any attempt to annex the occupied Palestinian territories, the application of Israeli sovereignty over the territories, or the expulsion of the Palestinian people.

They stressed that achieving a just and comprehensive peace must begin with a serious political process leading to the implementation of a two-state solution and the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The collective statement also urged the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities by taking concrete steps to ensure that Israel complies with its obligations under international law and to hold perpetrators of serious violations accountable to contribute to the protection of civilians and the achievement of a permanent ceasefire.

In addition, the foreign ministers also stressed that Israel's violations in Gaza cannot be separated from settler attacks in the occupied West Bank, expansion of settlements, and unilateral measures aimed at changing the status quo of occupied Jerusalem.

They assessed these actions as a systematic policy aimed at imposing a new reality through violence and disrupting the foundation of a two-state solution.
