Haji Halim's Heir Recovers State Losses of IDR 127.2 Billion   

JAKARTA - The family of the heirs of the late Palembang businessman Haji Abdul Halim Ali or Haji Halim stated that the recovery of state financial losses worth Rp. 127.27 billion was a form of commitment and good faith in resolving the alleged corruption case of state land utilization.

The recovery of state losses was facilitated by the Legal and State Administration (Datun) of the South Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office through the negotiation and mediation process with the heirs' family. The payment was made in stages.

"This can be an example that the recovery of state financial losses does not have to be through criminal or criminal execution, but can also be resolved by way of mediation with Datun," said the lawyer for the family of Haji Halim, R.M. Budi Sentosa, in a written statement, Wednesday, August 5.

Budi explained that the settlement through the civil path was chosen after the criminal process was dropped because Haji Halim died on January 22, 2026. But, this step was taken as a form of responsibility.

The funds deposited into the state treasury will later be used for business activities involving the people of Musi Banyuasin Regency (Muba), in line with Haji Halim's ideals during his life.

"From the plantation business activities, it will increase the availability of employment and other forms of collaboration or cooperation with the local community," he said.

Previously, the South Sumatra Attorney General's Office announced the successful recovery of state financial losses in the case of alleged corruption in the use of state land involving Haji Halim as President Director of PT Sentosa Mulia Bahagia (PT SMB).

Deputy Head of the South Sumatra Attorney General's Office, Anton Delianto, explained that the process was carried out based on the Substitution Power of Attorney Number SK-11/L.6/GP.2/04/2026 which gives the Attorney General's Office the authority to negotiate and mediate with the heirs' families.

The recovery value of Rp. 127,276,655,336 refers to the results of the audit of the South Sumatra Representative of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) dated November 17, 2025.

Anton said that this step shows that law enforcement is not only oriented towards punishment, but also prioritizes efforts to save assets and recover state finances.

The criminal case against Haji Halim was previously declared legally void after the defendant died. Therefore, the settlement related to state losses was then taken through the mechanism of civil and state business management facilitated by the South Sumatra Regional Attorney General's Office.
