Andantara Offered to Enter Madinah Airport, Rosan Waiting for Further Discussion

JAKARTA - Minister of Investment and Industrialization and Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani reported a number of agendas to President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Thursday, August 6. One of them is an offer for BPI Danantara to become the owner of a portion of the Medina Airport shares.

Rosan, who also serves as the Head of BPI Danantara, said the offer came after he returned from Mecca and Medina. During the visit, he met with the Saudi Investment Minister, the King's advisor, as well as a number of related parties.

"It happens to have cooperation with the investment ministry there. It happens that the investment minister is also my friend, meet him, meet the advisor to the King and several collaborations in the field of airports in Medina," said Rosan at the Palace.

According to Rosan, Danantara was offered a share of ownership in Madinah Airport. The offer will still be further explored.

"We were offered to Danantara to have a share of ownership in the Madinah Airport. It was offered directly to me. We are exploring, later the team will immediately meet with the team from Mada Group who has an airport in Madinah," said Rosan.

Apart from the issue of the Madinah Airport, Rosan also reported on the development of the plan to build the Haji Village tower in Mecca. The President, said Rosan, asked for the latest developments regarding planning, construction, and the process of selecting architects.

Rosan also conveyed the President's instructions regarding the simplification of structures in large SOEs. According to him, Prabowo asked for a reduction in the layers or layers of the organization so that decision-making would be faster.

The directive is mainly aimed at large SOEs such as Pertamina, PLN, and other state-owned companies.

"His instructions are also for the reduction of layers, especially in large SOEs, Pertamina, PLN, and others, so that decision-making becomes faster," said Rosan.

According to Rosan, the simplification of the structure is also aimed at increasing productivity and maintaining efficiency.

Rosan said the streamlining process that had been carried out included around 274 companies until the end of July. This development was also reported to the President.

During the meeting, Rosan also reported on the ongoing downstream development. However, he did not detail the downstream projects discussed.

When asked about the Trans-Sumatra and Trans-Kalimantan train plans, Rosan did not want to explain further. He said that it still needed to be discussed together.

Rosan also has not explained the gasification of coal into dimethyl ether or DME.
