2 Police Arrested by Propam Polda Jambi for Alleged Recruitment Fraud for Enlisted

JAMBI - The Jambi Police's Profession and Security (Bidpropam) Unit is investigating alleged fraud in the recruitment of 2026 Fiscal Year Police Cadets, which is suspected to involve two police personnel, with a provisional loss of Rp. 7.81 billion.

Head of Public Relations of the Jambi Police, Kombes Erlan Munaji, said that two personnel from the Jambi Police Human Resources Bureau, initials Briptu MD and Bripda Y, had been secured for questioning.

"Both of them have now been secured after allegedly promising the selection participants to graduate by asking for a certain amount of money," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 6.

According to Erlan, the complaint was received by Bidpropam on August 3.

The modus operandi used was promising the graduation of the police officer selection participants in exchange for a certain amount of money.

Until now, 12 people have been recorded as victims, consisting of the general public and members of the National Police whose children are participating in the selection.

Based on the temporary data, the total reported losses reached around IDR 7.81 billion.

Investigators are still opening the possibility of an increase in the number of victims and the value of losses.

In addition to undergoing an ethical examination at Bidpropam, the two personnel will also be prosecuted criminally by the Jambi Police Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum).

The Jambi Police appealed to the public not to easily believe anyone who promises to graduate as a member of the National Police outside the official mechanism and asked other victims to immediately report if they experience similar events.
