BRIN Makes Shoes, Prices Start at Rp75 Thousand

Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency or BRIN, Arif Satria, showed off BRIN-made shoes to reporters at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, Thursday, August 6.

According to Arif, the cheap local shoes produced in Serpong are the answer to the need for shoes at affordable prices. According to Arif, President Prabowo Subianto has asked BRIN to find solutions related to the need for shoes. The advantage, said Arif, lies in the materials and low prices.

He said the price of the shoes still varies, depending on the motif and material. Currently, the price is in the range of Rp. 75 thousand. There are also variants that cost over Rp. 100 thousand. This product has not been mass-produced. BRIN will still look for industrial partners so that the shoes can be made in larger quantities.

Arif also said that the shoes were still in the trial stage of use. Arif said that the direction of development of the BRIN shoes was one of them to help the people's school program.
