Only 2 Days After ART, Girl From Cianjur Was Kidnapped by Her Employer at Kelapa Gading Elite Apartment

Cianjur - A girl from Cianjur with the initials LD (23) became a victim of kidnapping while applying for a job as a domestic helper (ART) at the Artha Gading Villa Block C1 housing, RW 21, Kelapa Gading Barat Village, Kelapa Gading District, North Jakarta, Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

The victim, who is a resident of Cianjur Regency, West Java, then reported the incident to 110 to ask for police assistance.

After receiving the report, the Kelapa Gading Police Criminal Investigation Unit carried out a crime scene check following up on the report.

Kelapa Gading Police Chief, Kompol Muhammad Esha, said the reporter reported that he was detained when he registered as an ART at a house.

"When he wanted to leave, the reporter's ID was detained and asked for a certain amount of money. Then the reporter called the 110 service to ask for police assistance," said Kompol Esha, Thursday, August 6, 2026.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Kelapa Gading Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Kiki Tanlim, said based on the results of checking the crime scene, it was known that the victim LD was looking for a job through the Facebook social media.

"He got information about the job through an ART distributor in the Cipinang area, East Jakarta," said AKP Kiki Tanlim.

After communicating with the distributor and being willing to work according to what was promised.

Then the victim LD departed from Cianjur to the work location via travel. He arrived on Monday, August 3, 2026. However, upon arriving at the house of the man with the initials H in the Artha Gading Villa housing, Kelapa Gading, the victim LD felt that the promised work situation was not what the distributor had explained.

LD also felt suspicious and wanted to quit his job as an ART. However, the owner of the house confiscated the victim's ID card on the grounds that it was a guarantee for the money that had been given to the distributor worth Rp. 1.5 million and until there was a replacement by the distributor.

"The reporter felt pressured regarding the money, so he reported the incident through 110," he said.

Furthermore, the police asked for information from each party concerned.

"The reporter was taken to the Kelapa Gading Police to be met with the distributor and the employer for mediation," he said.

Until now, his case is still being handled by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kelapa Gading Police.
