Prosecutor Sprays Rizieq Shihab On Anti-God Oligarchy: Don't Make Up Without Evidence!
JAKARTA - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) called Rizieq Shihab's statement about the anti-God oligarchy baseless. Rizieq is only seen as boasting without a clear argument.
The statement began when the prosecutor read out the replica. The prosecutor considered that Rizieq only conveyed his complaints in a memorandum of defense or plea.
"Habib Muhammad Rizieq has conveyed too many complaints that have almost nothing to do with the subject of the case being tried," said the prosecutor during the trial at the East Jakarta District Court, Monday, June 14.
Then, the prosecutor highlighted Rizieq's statement about the anti-God oligarchy. According to the prosecutor, there is no group or anyone who is anti-God. Because all Indonesian citizens have a legitimate religion or belief.
Even the prosecutor considered Rizieq inappropriate to say that in the trial. The reason, there is no clear evidence and basis.
"The anti-God oligarchy, I don't know who the anti-God oligarchy is, even though all citizens have a legal belief in God," said the prosecutor.
"The defendant should have described his frustration, this is not the place. Don't make a fuss without a strong argument," continued the prosecutor.
For information, in a memorandum of defense or pledoi, Rizieq Shihab believes that the case against him is an act of political revenge.
"I am increasingly believing and increasingly convinced that this is a political case that is wrapped and packaged with a legal case, so that the law is only a tool of legalization and justification to fulfill the oligarchs' political grudge against me and my family and friends," said Rizieq.
In addition, Rizieq also considered the prosecutor's demand for 6 years in prison to be very unreasonable. Because, the case that ensnared him was a violation of health protocols.
"After I heard and read the prosecutor's demands, which sentenced me to 6 years in prison. The prosecutor's demands are unreasonable and beyond reason, even too sadistic and immoral," said Rizieq.
