Police Arrest the Perpetrators of the Body Mutilation in a Bag in Pancoran Mas Depok
JAKARTA - The police arrested a man with the initials SA who was suspected of committing murder in the case of the discovery of a body in a sack in Tanah Merah, Kavling Depkes, Pancoran Mas Village, Depok City.
Kanit 1 Subdit Resmob Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya Kompol Dimitri Mahendra Kartika said the arrest was carried out by the Metro Jaya Police Resmob Sub-Directorate team.
"The perpetrator was arrested by the Subdit Resmob Team of the Metro Jaya Police on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 04.15 WIB, in Pandeglang, Banten, while fleeing," said Dimitri as reported by ANTARRA, Wednesday, August 5.
Until now, investigators are still investigating the relationship between SA and the victim whose body was found in a sack in the Depok area on Tuesday (4/8).
"It's still being investigated," said Dimitri.
His party also has not confirmed the whereabouts of the victim's body that has not been found.
"Later it will be informed again," said Dimitri.
Previously, the police said that the body of an unidentified man who was found tied in a sack in the Kavling Depkes field, Pancoran Mas District, Depok City, was suspected to be a victim of mutilation.
"When found, the body was tied by hand, wrapped in sacks and black plastic," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Depok Metro Police AKBP Made Gede Oka Utama in Jakarta, Tuesday (4/8).
According to him, in the discovery of the body, only the head, body and both hands were found, while the legs up to the groin were gone.
Made revealed that officers also found a cut wound on the neck and no victim's identity was found, so it was suspected to be a victim of mutilation.
His party will also provide official information after the autopsy process conducted with a team of forensic doctors at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital is completed.
"For this reason, we will convey the identity of the victim later after we get certainty," said Made.
