Qatar Urges Israel to Implement Ceasefire in Gaza

JAKARTA - Qatar on Tuesday called on Israel to implement its commitments under the Gaza ceasefire agreement, saying Hamas had fulfilled all obligations under the deal.

Speaking at a news conference in Doha, Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari said Hamas "has committed to all that is expected to be done under the road map."

"We ask the international community to pressure Israel to implement this agreement so that we can finally move towards the reconstruction of Gaza," he said, launching Anadolu (4/8).

His call came after the Peace Council and US President Donald Trump announced on Friday last week, Hamas had agreed to a roadmap to implement the next phase of the Gaza ceasefire, while Israel has not announced an official position.

It is known that Qatar, along with Egypt and Turkey, has been a mediator in efforts to secure the implementation of the agreement.

Israel has killed more than 73,000 people and wounded more than 174,000 others in the brutal war in Gaza since October 2023.

Although the ceasefire agreement has been in effect since October 10, 2025, Israel continues to carry out its attacks throughout the region, killing 1,252 Palestinians and injuring 4,120 others, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.
