Polri's Kortastipidkor Ready for Febrie Adriansyah's Preliminary Hearing
JAKARTA - The National Police's Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortastipidkor) stated that it was ready to face the pre-trial lawsuit of the former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah.
"Kortastipidkor Polri is ready to face pre-trial lawsuits," said Head of Operations of the Polri Kortastipidkor, Kombes Pol. Ahmad Yusuf Afandi, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 4.
According to Yusuf, Febrie Adriansyah's legal team has the right to apply for a pretrial because it has been regulated in Article 1 paragraph 15 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The article, he said, limits the parties who can submit objections through the pre-trial mechanism, namely the suspect/family of the suspect, the victim/family of the victim, and the reporter/advocate/legal aid provider who is authorized to represent the legal interests of the suspect or victim.
"So in principle, the pre-trial procedure law is intended for people or parties who have interests and legal connections directly to what is the object of the pre-trial," he said.
Febrie Adriansyah's camp will file a pretrial lawsuit regarding the determination of suspects by the Attorney General's Office and the National Police.
Febrie's legal team member, Firman Wijaya, explained that his party would file two pretrial motions. The first application concerns the forced efforts made by the Attorney General's Office in determining the status of suspects in the alleged TPPU case and the forced detention efforts.
The second application is related to the forced attempt to determine the suspects in the alleged corruption and money laundering, search and seizure carried out by the Polda Metro Jaya and/or the National Police's Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortastipidkor).
The team of investigators from the Attorney General's Office has named Febrie Adriansyah and the private party Nurman Herin as suspects in the alleged TPPU case.
Meanwhile, the National Police named Febrie as a suspect in alleged corruption and TPPU in handling the PT Asabri case for the period 2020-2024. Don Ritto as a private party also has the status of a suspect in the same case.
