Fulham Officially Completes Gonzalo Garcia Transfer from Real Madrid

JAKARTA - Fulham has officially completed the transfer of young striker Gonzalo Garcia from Real Madrid in the summer of 2026. "The club is pleased to announce the signing of Gonzalo Garcia from Real Madrid," said Fulham in a statement via the official website on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old Spaniard has signed a contract until 2031, with Fulham having an option to extend for a further year.

Spanish media reported that Garcia's transfer fee amounted to around 40 million euros (around Rp750 billion). Meanwhile, Real Madrid is rumored to have retained a sell-on clause of 30 percent if the player is sold in the future.

Garcia had his most productive season in his career with Real Madrid in 2025/26. He scored eight goals in all competitions, including six goals in LaLiga.

One of his best performances came in January when he scored a hat-trick against Real Betis.

After being introduced as Fulham's new player, Garcia admitted that he was excited to start his new adventure in the English League.

"I am very grateful and very happy to be here. I want to thank the club's management and Arbeloa for the trust they have given me. I am very excited to start soon," Garcia told FFCtv, quoted by Antara.

Garcia's arrival also sees him reunited with Alvaro Arbeloa. Fulham appointed the former Real Madrid coach as head coach this summer.

Arbeloa took over the Fulham coaching seat following Marco Silva's departure at the end of June.

Garcia is not the only young Spanish player to move from Real Madrid to Craven Cottage. 21-year-old attacking midfielder Cesar Palacios also joined Fulham after breaking into Madrid's first team under Arbeloa in recent months.
