Mediator Condemns Israel's Violations in Gaza Strip and Urges Ceasefire

JAKARTA - Qatar, Egypt and Turkey in their capacity as mediators expressed strong condemnation and rejection of Israel's ongoing violations in the Gaza Strip, Palestine, especially targeting health care facilities and medical infrastructure, resulting in civilian casualties, including women and children, a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law.

In a joint statement on Monday, the mediators stressed the need for Israel to comply with all its obligations under international law and to fully uphold its commitments under the ceasefire agreement, stressing that the continuation of these violations is a violation of the agreement and undermines efforts aimed at implementing the second phase, especially after the announcement of Hamas and Palestinian factions about their acceptance of the road map, especially the provisions regarding the seizure of weapons, quoted from WAFA (4/8).

Furthermore, the mediators warned that this violation threatens the path to de-escalation and exacerbates the suffering of civilians in the Gaza Strip.

The mediators renewed their calls to ensure full protection for civilians, medical facilities, and humanitarian personnel, as well as to guarantee the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid and medical supplies throughout the Gaza Strip.

In a joint statement, the mediators also called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and put the necessary pressure on Israel to fulfill its obligations under international law and the ceasefire agreement, in a way that ensures the completion of US President Donald Trump's peace plan.

They noted that President Trump described the consensus on the roadmap for the second phase as a "historic deal," and stressed the need to prevent any form of weakening of efforts aimed at achieving sustainable de-escalation, leading to a permanent ceasefire and ending the humanitarian suffering in the Gaza Strip.

Israel has stepped up its offensive in Gaza in recent days, with at least 19 people killed in Sunday's attack.

It is known that the health authorities in Gaza announced on Sunday that the death toll from the Israeli aggression in the Palestinian enclave since October 2, 2023 has reached 73,356 people while the number of injured reached 174,185 people.

Meanwhile, since the October 2025 ceasefire agreement, Palestinian deaths have reached 1,230 people, while the injured have reached 4,076 people.
