Erick Thohir: PSSI Provincial Elections Held October-November 2026, PSSI Congress July 2027

PSSI ensures that the election of PSSI Provincial officers will be held simultaneously in October-November 2026. Meanwhile, the Ordinary Congress of the 2027 PSSI Election is scheduled to take place in July 2027.

The decision is one of the results of the 2026 PSSI Ordinary Congress held at the Fairmont Hotel, Jakarta, Monday, August 3, 2026.

PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir explained that the 2027 PSSI Election Congress was originally scheduled for May 2027 in accordance with the 2025 edition of the PSSI Statute. However, the schedule was agreed to be postponed to July 2027.

The change was made to give PSSI time to complete the election at the provincial level as well as consolidate the organization.

"The decision to adjust the schedule of the Congress of Elections from May to July 2027 was taken to ensure the readiness of the organization and the sustainability of the competition," said Erick.

According to him, the PSSI Provincial elections will take place in October and November 2026. After that, PSSI needs time to consolidate with the provincial ranks related to the future football program.

In addition to the organization's agenda, the determination of the schedule for the Election Congress also considers the stages of work of the Election Committee as well as the national and international competition calendar.

"Moreover, all league competitions also end in June so that the Ordinary Congress of the 2027 Election is carried out properly in July 2027," said Erick.
