Discuss PPHN with the MPR, Prabowo Concerned Many Regional Heads are Corrupted

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto highlighted the expensive process of democracy in the regions and the many regional heads who were entangled in corruption when he received the leadership of the MPR RI at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, Monday, August 3.

MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani said this was discussed when the MPR leadership handed over the concept of the State's Main Principles or PPHN to the President.

Muzani said Prabowo paid special attention to the democratization process, especially the implementation of local government.

"One of them is that the President feels that the process of carrying out local government is carried out with a costly, complicated, and extremely tiring democratic process," said Muzani.

According to Muzani, Prabowo is also concerned about the many regional heads who are then caught up in corruption cases.

"He is very concerned about various events that occur in various regions, so many regional heads who are then trapped in corruption," said Muzani.

Therefore, said Muzani, Prabowo asked that this issue be a serious concern.

"He asked that this also be a serious concern to think about," said Muzani.

PPHN is one of the agendas brought by the leadership of the MPR in a meeting with the President. Muzani said that the concept was previously still in the form of a draft and was discussed in a team formed by the MPR.

During the meeting, the MPR handed over the concept of PPHN to Prabowo and discussed a number of things related to the direction of cross-government development.

Muzani said the PPHN was not intended for a short-term government. The concept was prepared as a guideline for the government's journey across the period of power.

"This PPHN is not intended for a short-term government, but to be a direction for the government's journey across the periodization," said Muzani.

According to Muzani, Prabowo in principle handed over the mechanism for determining the PPHN to the MPR.

"The President entrusts the MPR mechanism to establish this as a guideline for the next presidencies," said Muzani.

Muzani said Prabowo welcomed the PPHN idea and paid attention to a number of points in it, including the process of democratization in the region.
