MPR Undang Prabowo to Present State Institution Report on August 14

JAKARTA - The leadership of the MPR RI met with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, Monday, August 3. The meeting discussed the plan for the 2026 MPR Annual Meeting which is scheduled to be held on Friday, August 14, 2026.

MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani said the arrival of the MPR leadership at the Palace was part of national brotherhood and consultation between the leadership of state institutions.

However, the main agenda is clear. The MPR invited Prabowo to attend the MPR Annual Session as the head of state.

"Our arrival today invites the presence of the President of the Republic of Indonesia as the head of state to submit an annual report on the performance of state institutions," said Muzani at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta.

The report will be presented by the President to the People's Consultative Assembly.

Muzani said the meeting was intense, relaxed, and substantive. He said the talks with Prabowo went well and were productive.

In addition to the MPR Annual Session, the MPR leadership also invited the President to commemorate Constitution Day which falls on August 18.

The agenda will be combined with the MPR Anniversary which falls on August 29. According to Muzani, the two events are planned to be held simultaneously on August 29, 2026.

"We have made these two important events into one, the plan is to be held on August 29," said Muzani.

The meeting of the MPR leadership with Prabowo also discussed the concept of the State's Main Principles or PPHN.

Muzani said that the concept was previously still in draft form and was discussed in a team formed by the MPR. In the meeting, the MPR handed over the PPHN concept to the President.

PPHN is prepared as a guideline for cross-government development. Muzani emphasized that the concept is not intended only for one period of government.

According to Muzani, Prabowo in principle handed over the discussion of the PPHN to the MPR mechanism.

"In principle, the President leaves it to the People's Consultative Assembly to make the State Guidelines into a guideline for cross-government," said Muzani.

He said Prabowo welcomed the idea and paid attention to a number of points in the PPHN concept.
