Not Just Running! GRID Cardio Rush Turns Ticket Participants into 1,500 Trees

TANGERANG - As many as 1,500 runners crowded the Carstensz Mall area, Gading Serpong, Tangerang Regency, in the GRID Cardio Rush (GCR) 2026 event, Sunday, August 2. Carrying the theme "Run Today, Grow Tomorrow", the annual running event organized by GRID Fitness Hub not only invites the public to apply a healthy lifestyle, but also carries a mission to preserve the environment through a tree planting program.

Since morning, participants from various regions have participated in two categories of the race, namely 5 kilometers and 10 kilometers. Not only followed by the running community, this event was also attended by families, sports activists, and a number of public figures who also enlivened the campaign for active and healthy life.

A number of names such as Dewa United basketball player Lester Prosper, Willie Salim, singer Anji, as well as several sports influencers were present to enliven the activities which were combined with various community activities, entertainment, and activation of partners.

What makes this year's event different is the commitment to environmental sustainability through the "1 Ticket = 1 Tree" campaign. Each ticket purchased by participants is converted into one tree seedling that will be planted in the conservation area of Mount Gede Pangrango National Park.

As a form of commitment, at the opening ceremony, a symbolic donation of 1,500 tree seedlings was handed over by the Director of PT Amerta Jiwa Indonesia, Megawati, to the Head of the Regional PTN VI Section of the Tapos Besar National Park, Gunung Gede Pangrango, Apnaeni Henry Winarcahyo.

A total of 1,500 seedlings to be planted consists of various endemic and conservation plants, such as janitri, kisireum, pulai, riung anak, and salam. The types of plants were selected based on recommendations from the Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park Headquarters to provide long-term ecological benefits for conservation areas.

Event & Partnership Coordinator of GRID Fitness Hub, Suci Sugiyono, said GRID Cardio Rush is not only a sports event, but also a platform to encourage concern for the environment.

"GRID Cardio Rush is not just a running event. We want every step of the participants to have a greater meaning. Through the 1 Ticket = 1 Tree program, we invite the public to contribute to maintaining the sustainability of nature. We believe that a healthy lifestyle must go hand in hand with concern for the earth we live in," said Suci.

Meanwhile, Apnaeni Henry Winarcahyo appreciated the collaboration built with GRID Fitness Hub in supporting the rehabilitation of conservation areas. The tree planting ceremony is scheduled to take place on August 15, 2026 in the area of the foot of Mount Gede Pangrango with the participation of representatives of GRID Fitness Hub, the Gede Pangrango Mountain National Park Headquarters, sponsors, running communities, and volunteers.

On the track, the competition was tight from start to finish. In the men's 10K category, Hendrik Nainggolan came out as the first champion, followed by Febtri Putra Zega in second place and Daniel Febrianto Aruan in third place.

The organizer also presents a new innovation in the form of Speed Rush Competition, which is a sprint challenge in the last 100 meters before the finish line. All participants from the 5K and 10K categories have the opportunity to record the fastest acceleration to compete for special awards.

The concept provides a different experience because runners are not only required to maintain rhythm throughout the race, but also to produce maximum speed at the end of the track.

Through the theme "Run Today, Grow Tomorrow", GRID Cardio Rush 2026 again emphasizes its role not only as a sports competition, but also as a space for community collaboration, healthy lifestyle campaigns, and real movements to maintain environmental sustainability. Every step of the participants will continue to be planting 1,500 trees in the Gede Pangrango Mountain conservation area as a contribution to natural sustainability.
