Marco Bezzecchi's Comeback Plan in MotoGP 2026 Runs Smoothly

JAKARTA - Marco Bezzecchi's comeback plan at the 2026 Silverstone MotoGP this weekend seems to be going smoothly. The Italian racer has returned to riding a motorcycle in a training session that took place in Misano.

Aprilia, the team defended by Bezzecchi, in a recent statement confirmed that his rider was able to ride the Aprilia RSV4 to continue his rehabilitation process.

"Marco Bezzecchi completed a four-lap session with the RSV4 at the Misano Circuit. His recovery program is going according to plan," Aprilia wrote in their official statement, quoted by Crash.

Being able to ride a motorcycle at Misano is of course a strong signal that the 27-year-old rider will return to racing in the UK, which is the start of the second half of the 2026 competition season.

Bezzecchi, who had dominated the start of the season, will undergo a medical test in the series leading up to the Silverstone race. If there are no obstacles, he is guaranteed to take part in the race on the 5.9 kilometer track.

Bezzecchi suffered a collarbone fracture as a result of the German MotoGP Qualifying incident. The injury made him absent in the Sprint Race and the main race at the Sachsenring and had to undergo surgery.

The injury at the end of the first half of the season added to Bezzecchi's list of misfortunes in the first half of a turbulent season. Since winning the Italian MotoGP in May 2026, he has failed to score a single point in a major race.

Before the incident in Germany, Bezzecchi was knocked out of the Hungarian MotoGP after being dragged by teammate Jorge Martin in a back-to-back crash at Turn 1. A curse in the form of a suspension then followed him in Brno for hitting a marshal after the Sprint Race crash.

During the race in the Netherlands, he also had a serious accident in the main race. The consequences of all the chaos forced Bezzecchi to drop from the top of the standings to fourth place, 22 points behind Martin who took over the sole position.
