Purbaya: Ministry of Finance ensures the safety of the People's School Budget
JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa emphasized the government's commitment to supporting human resource development through financing sourced from the state budget.
The affirmation was conveyed when reviewing the implementation of the People's School Program at the Integrated People's School 2, Surabaya, East Java, Saturday, August 1.
According to Purbaya, the Ministry of Finance has the responsibility to ensure the availability of the budget so that the government's priority programs can run optimally.
"One of the tasks of the Ministry of Finance is to ensure the availability of funds so that the program can run optimally," said Purbaya as quoted by Antara.
He reiterated that the People's School is one of President Prabowo Subianto's priority programs aimed at expanding access to quality education for Indonesian children, especially from families in need.
Purbaya hopes that the learning opportunities obtained by students through the People's School Program can be a resource to achieve a better future while increasing social mobility through the education channel.
The visit was also used to see firsthand the implementation of the use of the State Budget to support the implementation of education. According to him, education financing is a long-term investment by the government to produce superior generations towards the Golden Indonesia 2045.
The Integrated People's School 2 of Surabaya City was built on an area of 6.6 hectares with a construction contract value of Rp. 3.52 trillion and a budget ceiling of Rp. 3.82 trillion. To date, the realization of the construction budget has reached Rp. 3.21 trillion.
The school carries the concept of integrated education which combines the elementary school (SD), middle school (SMP), and high school (SMA) levels in one educational area.
In addition to attending classes, students also live in dormitories equipped with various supporting facilities to support the learning process as well as character formation.
Through the People's School program, the government is trying to provide better quality education access for children from poor families while building the foundation for the birth of a generation of smart, competitive, and ready to become leaders of the nation in the future.
