Ramai Mal Pasang Pagar, Apindo Sebut Tak Lihat Ada Kepanikan

Jakarta - Recently, there has been a lot of news that malls or shopping centers in Jakarta and Surabaya have installed fences. The General Chairman of the Indonesian Business Association (Apindo) Shinta Kamdani sees this not as a sign of widespread concern for business actors.

According to him, so far not all malls are doing the same thing. This was conveyed by Shinta at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Friday, July 31. Shinta admitted that he had not spoken directly to the owner or manager of the mall who had put up the fence.

However, Shinta suspected that the decision could have been taken for security reasons. Even so, he emphasized that Apindo had not seen the issue as a common symptom in the business world.

Shinta said mall managers have their own policies in maintaining the security of their business areas.

Therefore, the installation of a fence does not automatically mean there is a certain threat. According to Shinta, Apindo has also not received specific complaints from mall owners or developers regarding security issues. However, Apindo still opens the possibility of directly checking the reasons for the mall managers.
