Preseason: Two Goals from Bryan Mbeumo Bring MU to Win 2-1 over Atletico Madrid

JAKARTA - Manchester United won 2-1 over Atletico Madrid in a pre-season trial match at Strawberry Arena, Sweden, Saturday (1/8) night WIB.

Having fallen behind first, the Red Devils turned the tide thanks to two goals from Bryan Mbeumo in the second half.

Atletico immediately surprised Manchester United when the match was only five minutes. Arnau Ortiz led the Spanish team to victory with a curved shot from the left side of the attack that was not reached by goalkeeper Tom Heaton.

The goal gave Atletico a 1-0 lead at halftime despite Manchester United trying to press to equalize.

Entering the second half, Manchester United got a penalty in the 52nd minute after Shea Lacey was brought down by Castillo inside the penalty box.

Mbeumo who advanced as an executor successfully carried out his duties to change the score to 1-1.

Just two minutes later, Mbeumo again recorded his name on the scoreboard. The 26-year-old striker took advantage of the chaos in front of the Atletico goal to score his second goal and turn the tide to 2-1 for Manchester United.

Atletico tried to catch up in the remaining matches, but Manchester United was able to maintain the lead until the final whistle.
