Khikmat, 100.000 Jemaah Hadiri Zikir dan Doa Kebangsaan di Monas, Wujud Syukur atas Kemerdekaan Indonesia

JAKARTA - A solemn atmosphere enveloped the National Monument (Monas) area, Jakarta, on Saturday night, August 1, 2026, when the government held a National Prayer and Prayer as the opening of the series of commemorations of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

Carrying the spirit of togetherness in diversity, the National Prayer and Prayer attended by more than 100,000 worshipers, became a space for reflection for all elements of the nation to remember the struggle of the founders of the nation as well as strengthen the common determination in filling independence.

The national prayer event was started by singing the national anthem Indonesia Raya. After that, the reading of the verses of the Holy Qur'an, Surat Ar-Rahman verses 1 to 14 by the 1st winner of the MTQ (Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran) International Al-Ameed 3rd Karbala in Iraq in 2026, Muhammad Zian Fahrezi.

In his remarks, Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar conveyed that the meaning of Zikir and National Prayer as a spiritual effort of the nation in filling independence and the importance of maintaining unity, harmony, and harmony in the midst of diversity in Indonesia. Nasaruddin said that a great nation was also built by the power of prayer, moral integrity, and the strength of inter-community harmony.

"With zikir we grow hearts, with prayer we knock on the sky, and with work and dedication we build the earth. Around 100 thousand participants in the zikir and prayer tonight came from various regions, from various religions, together praying for the country," said Nasaruddin.

The next event was a cross-religious national prayer led by six cross-religious figures. The prayer was offered in turn according to each person's beliefs as a form of gratitude for the blessings of independence and at the same time hope that Indonesia will always be given peace, unity, and strength in realizing national ideals.

The reading of prayers began with the Protestant Christian religion led by Rev. Jacklevyn Frits Manuputty. Meanwhile, for the Catholic religion was led by Father Franciscus Yance Sengga, S.Fill.Lic.Th. Furthermore, a prayer for Hindus was led by Pinandita Gede Pastika, followed by a prayer for Buddhists by Bhikku Bhadranatha, Thera. Furthermore, the reading of prayers for the Chinese community was led by Xs. Budi S. Tanuwibowo. The inter-religious prayer was closed by H. Husni Ismail for Muslims.

The solemn atmosphere then continued through the recitation of the National Selawat led by Habib Syech bin Abdul Qodir Assegaf together with thousands of worshipers who crowded the Monas area.

Previously, the series of activities began with the reading of the Khotmil Qur'an led by Dr. KH. Rijal Ahmad Rangkuti, followed by the reading of the Khotmil Qur'an Prayer led by Ust. H. Muzakkir Abd Rahman, MA.

Also present at the event were the Ministers and Deputy Ministers of the Red and White Cabinet as well as cross-religious figures.
