Additional TKD is still waiting for the President, Purbaya said the count is already there

JAKARTA - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has not announced additional plans for transfers to regions or TKD for 2025. He said that the initial count already existed, but was still waiting for President Prabowo Subianto's direction.

Purbaya conveyed this at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Friday, July 31.

TKD is a fund from the central government that is transferred to the region to support public services, development, and the needs of local governments.

When asked whether the government would increase the special budget for the regions in 2025, Purbaya said the needs had been roughly calculated. However, the final figure could not be announced.

"We have calculated the approximate needs, waiting for the President's direction," said Purbaya.

He said the plan had not been calculated in detail. Therefore, the government has not been able to deliver official figures.

"It's not detailed, it can't be announced yet," he said.

When asked when the additional TKD would be decided, Purbaya again said he was still waiting for the President's instructions.

"Wait for the President's instructions first," said the Minister of Finance.

Purbaya admitted that the initial calculation had been made. However, he said it was still a mere sketch and needed to be straightened out before being brought to the President.

"This still has to be straightened out first. It is only calculated on paper with scribbles. Later I will meet with the President. If he agrees, we will umumin," he said.

He emphasized that the final decision was in the hands of the President.

On the same occasion, Purbaya also answered questions about the increase in performance allowances for the Ministry of Defense and the TNI. He said the policy had been included in the government's calculations.

According to Purbaya, the decision to increase the tukin was made last year, but the execution was carried out this year.

"It's been a long time, the policy was decided last year if I'm not mistaken, but the execution is this year. So there's a count," said Purbaya.

Purbaya ensured that the increase in the Kemhan and TNI tukin would not widen the 2026 state budget deficit.

When asked whether the policy would add to the deficit, Purbaya replied briefly, "No."

Regarding the teacher allowance in the 3T area, Purbaya admitted that he did not know the details. The 3T area is a lagging, leading, and outermost area.
