JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjenpas) clarified the viral video about the raid by officers at the residence of the head of the correctional institution (Rumdin Kalapas) in Waingapu, East Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), is an old video. In the video, there is a beautiful girl claiming to be 19 years old who is called Kalapas' foster sister.

Spokesperson for the Directorate General of Corrections Rika Aprianti said the video was a 2024 incident, and the resident of the official residence with the initials RB had been given a firm sanction.

"The video is an old video that happened in November 2024," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, August 1.

He said, RB who was then serving as the Head of the Waingapu Police, was immediately given the action of removal from office, was examined and administrative action was taken.

Currently, he said, RB has the status of ASN at the Jambi Provincial Directorate General of Civil Aviation (Ditjenpas) Regional Office, which has been temporarily dismissed.

This action was taken because the person concerned was undergoing a legal process and had been detained by the Jambi Police.

"He (RB) is suspected of being involved in drug trafficking, he has been processed in accordance with applicable regulations," he said.

Rika emphasized that the video circulating at this time is an old video that occurred in 2024, but was re-uploaded by social media accounts with an inaccurate narrative, including related to the time of the incident.

"The commitment of the Directorate General of Customs remains the same, there is no tolerance for violations. If proven, then strict sanctions will be applied," he emphasized.

Rika also appreciated the constructive input from the community, and asked for their support to correct incorrect information.

He encouraged the public to be wise in receiving information, not to rush to form opinions, without being supported by facts that can be held accountable.

"We hope that the public's support will always prioritize verified information, understand the context of an event in its entirety, and not disseminate information that has the potential to cause disinformation or misunderstanding in the public space," said Rika.

A 3-minute video circulated widely on a number of social media with the narrative of a raid at the Waingapu Kalapas Office. In the video, officers found a woman who was allegedly not an official resident.

The raid was carried out because officers received reports of abuse of authority in occupying state official residences.
