BNPT Partners with Kemenimipas and PT Sang Hyang Seri, Former Napiter Succeeds in Managing Agriculture to Livestock

SUBANG - The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) together with the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Kemenimipas), Densus 88 Anti-Terror Polri, and PT Sang Hyang Seri (SHS) showed tangible results of the deradicalization program through economic empowerment. A number of deradicalization partners or former terrorism convicts (napiter) have now succeeded in developing businesses in the agricultural, livestock, and fisheries sectors.

The success of the program was demonstrated through the harvest of cultivation results in the Sukamandi area, Subang Regency, West Java, Friday (31/7). This program is proof that deradikalisasi does not only focus on ideological training, but also builds economic independence so that former napiters are able to return to play a productive role in the community.

BNPT Head Eddy Hartono said economic empowerment is an important part of the social reintegration process after former napiters complete the training period.

"This program is a follow-up to deradicalization through social reintegration. We are developing entrepreneurship so that our brothers and sisters who have been exposed can be productive again and accepted by society," said Eddy.

According to him, this achievement is the result of continuous collaboration between BNPT, Kemenimipas, Densus 88 AT Polri, and PT Sang Hyang Seri in accompanying the Deradicalized Partner since undergoing training until returning to the community.

In addition to strengthening social reintegration, this program also contributes to the government's efforts to support national food security through the development of an integrated agricultural sector.

Minister of Immigration and Corrections Agus Andrianto assessed that the Sukamandi area has great potential to be developed as a productivity-based training center.

According to Agus, the area of about 3,200 hectares has the potential to become a location for the Labor Training Center (BLK) to open correctional institutions that are able to equip inmates with work skills while supporting national food production.

Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Sang Hyang Seri Adhi Cahyono Nugroho explained that the collaboration was developed through the concept of circular farming which integrates agriculture, livestock, and fisheries in one business ecosystem.

This concept is not only a means of training skills, but also opens up sustainable business opportunities for the De-Radicalized Partners so that they have a source of income after returning to society.

The success of this program was also felt by Didin Kamaludin, one of the Deradikalized Partners. During the four years of participating in the mentoring program, he managed to develop his business from rice cultivation to expanding into sheep farming and catfish cultivation.

"Alhamdulillah, from the results of rice, catfish, and sheep cultivation, we can help the family's economy. Not least, we also get guidance and moral support to build a better future," said Didin.

The collaboration between ministries, law enforcement agencies, and SOEs is an example that the success of the deradicalization program is not only measured in terms of security, but also in terms of the ability to create real change through improved welfare, economic independence, and the re-acceptance of former napiters in the community.

Through the approach of sustainable economic empowerment, BNPT hopes that more and more Radicalized Partners will be able to build a new life independently while contributing to national economic development and food security.
