DKI Develop Integrated Cattle Farms in Ciangir, Aiming to Strengthen Food Supply

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government together with Dharma Jaya will build an integrated livestock area in Ciangir, Legok District, Tangerang Regency, Banten, with an investment value of around Rp1 trillion.

The area of about 20 hectares is prepared as a cattle fattening center and strengthening the supply of food in Jakarta.

The plan was reviewed directly by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung during a working visit to the location on Friday, July 31, 2026.

Pramono emphasized that the land owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government would not be used as an alternative location for the Bantargebang TPST, as had previously developed in the community.

"This place is not at all what people think it will be an alternative to Bantargebang, absolutely not," said Pramono at the location, Friday, July 31.

According to him, the Ciangir area will be developed to support regional food security through cattle, chicken, fish farming, to urban farming.

"Food security that will be developed here is one of them is cattle farming, then also for chickens, fish, and so on," he said.

Pramono said that the construction of the area's infrastructure was targeted to start in November 2026. He has also instructed the Environment Service, the Food Security, Marine and Agriculture Service (KPKP), and the Regional Asset Management Agency (BPAD) to start work that is the authority of the DKI Provincial Government.

"And I have also ordered the Environment Service, the KPKP Service, and the Asset Agency for those who are the responsibility of the DKI Jakarta Government to start earlier," said Pramono.

President Director of Perumda Dharma Jaya Raditya Endra Budiman explained that the development of the area was a follow-up to the approval of the use of Regional Property (BMD) from the DKI Jakarta Provincial BPAD through Letter Number 1880/UD.02.01 dated June 23, 2026.

"The development of the Ciangir Integrated Cattle Breeding Area is one of the strategic initiatives of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in optimizing regional assets to strengthen food security. This area will be managed by Perumda Dharma Jaya as a modern cattle fattening center that supports the availability of beef supplies for the people of Jakarta," said Raditya.

The Ciangir area is designed with an integrated livestock concept from upstream to downstream. Facilities that have been prepared include cattle fattening pens, quarantine pens, feed warehouses and silage bunkers, laboratories, weighing bridges, loading and unloading areas, slaughterhouses (RPH), cold storage, meat processing facilities, wastewater treatment facilities (IPAL), offices, and livestock feed green areas.

Dharma Jaya also targets a modern and efficient operational system through the provision of quality feed produced independently with technology support.

Currently, the project is still in the early stages of construction, cross-agency coordination, socialization, and licensing processes. The first phase of construction is targeted to begin at the end of 2026.
