2 Houses In Tunjuk Village South Kalimantan Burned, Police Suspected Due To Electric Short Circuit

KALIMANTAN - A massive fire broke out in Tunjuk Village, South Paringin District, Balangan Regency, South Kalimantan, Sunday, June 13 yesterday afternoon. One house that was left by its occupants for a celebration was engulfed in flames.

"When the fire broke out, the occupants of the two houses were going to a celebration in the same village," said Head of Preparedness and Emergency at the Balangan BPBD, Muhammad Syuhada in Paringin, as reported by Antara, Sunday evening.

The fire occurred around 11.23 central Indonesia time. Local residents are also relaxing enjoying the holidays. From the data and reports obtained in the field, one unit of a resident's house inhabited by the couple Tardi and Norhikmah and their two children burned down.

Meanwhile, a housing unit belonging to the couple Rizani and Sawiyah and their three children, burned about five percent.

There were no casualties in this incident. Officers, continued Syuhada, were constrained by narrow road access to extinguish the fire.

"Alhamdulillah, at around 12:10 central Indonesia time the fire was controlled, so that the houses of the residents around the fire location were safe," he said.

Meanwhile, for another obstacle, all the buildings of the houses that burned were made of wood, so that the fire quickly spread to all parts of the house.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Paringin Police, Commissioner Adjutant Eko Budi Mulyono, confirmed that there was a fire incident in a residential area in Tunjuk Village, South Paringin District.

"The information came to us at around 11.23 central Indonesia time, for the results of the investigation it was suspected that there was an electric short circuit," he explained.

Furthermore, Eko explained, most likely because the current load was not comparable, it caused heat and sparked fire on the roof of the victim's house.
