DKI DPRD Requests 2027 APBD to Prioritize the Expansion of Kapuk Village, the Population Reaches 175 Thousand Souls
JAKARTA - Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD has asked the DKI Provincial Government to prioritize the budget for the expansion of Kapuk Village in the 2027 APBD. This step is considered urgent because Kapuk Village is currently inhabited by around 175 thousand residents, far above the ideal number for one village area.
Chairman of Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Inggard Joshua said that the expansion is targeted to give birth to three new administrative areas, namely Kapuk Village, South Kapuk Village, and East Kapuk Village.
"Kapuk is one sub-district with a population of 175 thousand. In fact, one sub-district with only 50 thousand residents is already very crowded," said Inggard, Friday, July 31.
According to Inggard, the large number of residents makes the burden of public services in Kapuk Village increasingly heavy. This condition is considered to have an impact on public access to government services so that the expansion of the area needs to be realized immediately.
He revealed that the plan to expand Kapuk Village had previously received support from the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung. Therefore, Commission A asked the Provincial Government to direct the budget to build a new village first rather than rehabilitating existing village and sub-district buildings.
"The expansion of Kapuk Village must be a priority because it concerns the improvement of services to the community. The existing village or sub-district building is already standing, while the Kapuk Village, which is the result of the expansion, does not exist," said Inggard.
Commission A assessed that the establishment of three new villages would accelerate and facilitate administrative services for residents who have been handled by one village with a very large population.
"We want by 2027 the new village will stand, the devices are complete, and can provide more optimal services to the community," he concluded.
