Jokowi to Safari to NTT, PSI Says People Miss Meeting
JAKARTA - The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), is scheduled to visit East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) for three days. The agenda will be filled with a safari to the community and attending the PSI NTT Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorda).
Jokowi's arrival was prepared by a combination of volunteers and cadres of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) in NTT. A number of volunteer groups are said to have coordinated under Rumah Juang 2 (RJ2) to welcome the former president's visit.
Kuncen House of Juang Jokowi Volunteer, Utje Gustaaf Patty, said Jokowi's welcome involved various volunteer elements, including BRN NTT, PasGibran NTT, DPW Team Garuda 08 NTT, BARA NUSA NTT, Gajah Solid Nusantara (GSN), Solmet NTT, and Alap-alap NTT.
"All of Mr. Jokowi's brothers in NTT, which is a combination of the community, all volunteer elements and PSI Party cadres, are ready to unite to welcome Mr. Jokowi," said Utje when contacted in Jakarta, Friday, July 31, 2026.
According to Utje, public enthusiasm for Jokowi's arrival is still high because the former head of state is considered to have emotional closeness with NTT residents.
"Many community representatives ask when Mr. Jokowi will go to NTT? There is a great longing, like the feeling of missing relatives to one of the family members who have not seen each other for a long time," he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the PSI NTT DPW Christian Widodo said Jokowi's visit was made at the invitation of the community who wanted to meet the former president again.
"NTT people miss the moments when Mr. Jokowi visited them during his 10 years as President of the Republic of Indonesia. Therefore, the public is very enthusiastic about welcoming Mr. Jokowi's safari agenda to NTT," he said.
In addition to the agenda of meeting the public, Jokowi is also scheduled to attend the PSI NTT Report. Christian hopes that Jokowi's presence can be a momentum to strengthen the internal consolidation of the party in the region.
"We also hope that Mr. Jokowi's presence will further strengthen the solidity of the PSI NTT cadre so that it will be taken into account both locally and nationally," he concluded.
