The Palace Has Not Stated Its Position Regarding the Supreme Court's Decision Regarding MBG

JAKARTA - The palace has not taken an official stance on the Constitutional Court's decision regarding the Free Nutritious Meal or MBG program. The government is still waiting for a copy of the decision before determining the next steps.

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said the government had received information about the Constitutional Court's decision. However, he said the official copy of the decision had not been received because the government's position was outside the city.

"We also have information that the Constitutional Court has made a decision. But indeed the first because we are officially out of town. We have not received a copy of the decision," said Prasetyo on the Kereta Nusantara Explorer on the way from Semarang to Jakarta, Thursday, July 30.

Prasetyo emphasized that the government respected the Constitutional Court's decision. However, the contents of the ruling still need to be studied first.

"Of course, whatever the decision of the Constitutional Court, we will certainly respect it, we will study it later," he said.

According to Prasetyo, the government also cannot stand alone if the decision concerns the budget. Because, the discussion of the state budget must be carried out together with the DPR.

"Because after all, when it comes to the issue of the budget, of course we are not standing alone. Because the budget we have to arrange together with our friends in the DPR," he said.

Prasetyo asked the public to wait for the official stance of the government after receiving and studying a copy of the ruling.

"So please wait," he said.

The MBG program is one of the main programs of the government of President Prabowo Subianto. Therefore, the MK's decision regarding the program has the potential to determine the direction of technical discussions, especially if it touches on the budget design.
