OJK Says BEI Target of 1,100 BEI Issuers by 2030 is Still Realistic
JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) assesses the target of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) to have 1,100 listed companies by 2030 and to bring the Indonesian capital market into the ranks of the world's 10 largest stock exchanges is still on a realistic track.
The Head of the Capital Market, Derivatives Finance, and Carbon Exchange Supervisory Board of OJK, Hasan Fawzi, said that to date there are 963 companies that have been listed on the IDX.
With the target of reaching 1,100 issuers by 2030, he continued, an additional 30 companies are needed to list on the exchange through initial public offerings (IPO) every year.
"Currently, the company has 963. If 2030 is targeted at 1100, then there will be an addition of 30 new IPO shares every year," he said in a written statement, quoted Thursday, July 30.
Hasan explained that the increase in the number of issuers is expected to be followed by growth in market capitalization, namely by the end of 2025, Indonesia's market capitalization has reached around Rp. 15,000 trillion.
"At the end of 2025, the market capitalization value is around 15,000 trillion. With the number of 963 companies that continue to grow, of course the market capitalization value will also grow," he said.
He added that the entry of around 150 new issuers until 2030, especially companies with strong fundamentals, is believed to further increase the national market capitalization.
According to Hasan, currently Indonesia's capital market has been in the group of the 20 largest stock exchanges in the world based on market capitalization and transaction value.
"By maintaining the growth of listed companies, increasing market penetration and improving transparency and governance, these targets are expected to be achieved," he said.
Previously, the IDX targeted the number of listed companies to reach 1,100 issuers by 2030.
In the midst of global economic uncertainty, the JSE remains optimistic that the target can be realized.
BEI President Director Jeffrey Hendrik said the annual target would still be adjusted to the development of market conditions until 2030.
"So, of course, for 2030, yes, we are still optimistic that more than 1,100 companies will be listed. But from year to year, yes, of course we will adjust to the market conditions in that year," he told the media, Monday, July 13.
However, he admitted that the market conditions throughout 2026 were still filled with global uncertainties which had an impact on companies' interest to carry out IPOs.
"Yes, as we know, in 2026, the market conditions are less conducive. Yes, there are many uncertainties arising from the current global conditions. So, of course, it will also reduce the interest of companies to list shares," he said.
