Jared Leto Accused of Sexual Assault by Four Women

JAKARTA - Jared Leto faces new allegations of violence and sexual assault from four women. The accusations emerged in a BBC investigative documentary featuring the testimonies of 10 women. Several of them claimed to be teenagers when they experienced the events they described.

Gulf News, quoted Wednesday, July 29, reported that the accusations and testimonies were included in the documentary Jared Leto: Hollywood's Dark Secret, which was released on Wednesday, July 29. Nine out of 10 women in the documentary spoke publicly for the first time about their experiences with the actor and musician.

The BBC used the pseudonyms Isabel, Clara, and Alex for the three women who gave testimony.

Isabel accused Leto of sexually assaulting her in 2002. She was 17 years old at the time, while Leto was in his 30s.

According to Isabel, the incident occurred at a motel after she met the Oscar-winning actor.

Another woman said Leto threatened her with sexual violence when she was 19.

Clara admitted that she had a sexual relationship with Leto when she was 17 years old. Leto was 34 years old at the time.

According to Clara, the relationship continued even though she had told Leto about the age limit for sexual consent in California. The term refers to the minimum age at which a person is considered legally capable of consenting to sexual activity.

The fourth woman accused Leto of grooming her when she was 16 years old. Grooming is a pattern of approach to build trust and manipulate someone, including children or teenagers, which can lead to sexual exploitation.

The BBC investigation also included the testimony of four other women. They claimed to have received phone calls from Leto that were considered inappropriate and sexual in tone.

Another woman said Leto had commented on her body inappropriately. She was only 14 when she met Leto in a signing session for fans.

Alex, a former model, also recounted his meeting with Leto in 2013. He was 19 at the time.

Alex admitted that he met Leto after a Thirty Seconds to Mars concert in London, then was invited to a meeting at a hotel. According to his statement, he was then alone with Leto and began to worry that he could not return home safely.

When asked if he could stay, Alex accused Leto of answering with a sexually suggestive remark that he considered threatening.

The meeting, said Alex, made him uncomfortable and worried about his safety.

All the information in the documentary is still a charge. Jared Leto has not responded when the report was published.
