Israel Accuses Hezbollah of Violating Lebanon Ceasefire Due to Drone Attack

JAKARTA - The Israeli military has accused Hezbollah of violating the ceasefire in Lebanon, blaming the Iranian-backed militant group for drone attacks on engineering vehicles in the country's south.

"This incident is a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon by the terrorist organization Hezbollah," the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said, as reported by CNN, Wednesday, July 29.

No injuries were reported.

Previously, the Lebanese National News Agency, which is run by the government, reported that Israeli forces burned houses in Qantara, South Lebanon.

In June, Israel and Lebanon signed an agreement aimed at transferring control of Hezbollah-dominated areas in southern Lebanon from the IDF to the Lebanese military, but both the IDF and Hezbollah continued to attack each other.

Lebanon is also an important part of the ceasefire agreement between Iran and the US which has now collapsed.
