KALIMANTAN - A girl with the initials KI (15) and her mother Desigantiani (37), a resident of Buntok, South Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan, found a baby boy lying in the bushes while going to church.
"My mother and I walked from the house to the Maranatha Church. That's when we heard a sound, it turned out that there was a baby in the bushes," said KI in Buntok as reported by Antara, Sunday, June 13.
KI explained, at around 07.30 WIB, he and his mother went to church. They crossed Jalan Barito Raya on foot, because the distance to the church was not too far.
When she was about to pass near the Sungai Raut Bridge, her mother suddenly heard a sound in the bushes around the bridge. But what sounded at that time was like the sound of a bird.
Curious, the two of them decided to stop and headed towards the origin of the voice. After arriving at the location, they were surprised to find a baby.
They then informed the findings to other residents who happened to be passing by. The residents then reported the finding of a baby in the bush to the police.
South Barito Police Chief AKBP Agung Tri Widiantoro represented by South Hamlet Police Chief Iptu Suranto confirmed the discovery of the baby.
"Currently we are still conducting an investigation regarding the discovery of the baby in the bush on Jalan Barito Raya Buntok, and the baby who was found has been taken to the Jaraga Sasameh Buntok Hospital for treatment," said Suranto.
Public Relations Section of the Jaraga Sasameh Buntok Hospital Noorhalidah when confirmed said that the baby found by residents in the bush was male with a weight of 3,355 kg and a baby's length of 51 cm.
"The condition of the baby boy is healthy and stable, while the baby's age is estimated to be under one day with the placenta still intact and fresh," said Noorhalidah.
