KPK Seals a Number of Locations in Pemalang after OTT Bupati Anom Widiyantoro

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has sealed a number of locations in the Pemalang Regency area since Tuesday evening, July 28. The sealing was carried out after a series of hand-catching operations (OTT) that ensnared Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro.

"In this case of hand-to-hand capture, it is true, the team has also sealed several locations in Pemalang," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, July 29.

"This sealing will lead to a search when the case enters the investigation stage," continued Budi. "In order to find additional evidence needed to uncover the case," he said.

As for this silent operation, Anom was secured in Jakarta. Based on the information obtained, he was brought from one of the hotels.

In addition to Anom, there were 20 other people who were taken by the anti-corruption commission. Then, of these numbers, 12 of them were taken to the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta to undergo further examination.

The anti-corruption commission has not been detailed about the criminal events underlying the OTT. But, the suspicion is that there is a gift to Anom related to the procurement of projects and the sale of positions.

In the OTT, the KPK also found money amounting to Rp. 2 billion and other evidence. "This closed investigation activity carried out by the KPK team is suspected to be related to the receipts made by the regent related to the project. Whether it is later the construction of the case is bribery or extortion related to projects in Pemalang Regency, of course, it will be explained and discussed in the expose," said Budi.

"In addition, there is also an alleged receipt made by the regent related to the sale and purchase of positions in the Pemalang Regency Government."
