Pemalang Regent Was Arrested by the KPK in Jakarta, Rp2 Billion in Cash Was Also Seized
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro was caught in a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) in the Jakarta area. He was secured with four other people on Tuesday night, July 28.
"One of the people who were secured in Jakarta was the Regent of Pemalang, who then arrived at the KPK Red and White building last night for intensive examination," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, July 29.
Budi then detailed that a total of 21 people were secured in the action. Of this number, 12 were taken to Jakarta.
"For the other seven people, six from Pemalang and one from Purworejo, it is likely that this afternoon until the afternoon, yes, will arrive at the KPK Red and White building for further examination," he said.
Budi has not detailed the actions of the parties who were caught in OTT. He only said that there was allegedly a transfer of money related to the project and the sale and purchase of positions.
The team in the field also found a number of evidence, including money of around Rp2 billion.
"Whether it is later the construction of the case is bribery or extortion related to projects in Pemalang Regency, of course it will be explained and discussed in the expose," he said.
"In addition, there is also an alleged receipt made by the regent related to the sale and purchase of positions in the Pemalang Regency Government," concluded Budi.
