Prabowo to IPDN Graduates: Big Policies Can Be Contained in the Hands of Bureaucracy
SUMEDANG - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the success of government programs is determined by the apparatus that runs it in the field. The best policy, he said, can fail if the bureaucracy does not work effectively.
The warning was conveyed by Prabowo when he inaugurated the Pamong Praja Muda Angkatan XXXIII IPDN Year 2026 in Sumedang, West Java, Wednesday, July 29.
"The biggest ideas, the biggest plans, the best policies, if they are not implemented in the field, the big ideas will fail," said Prabowo.
He said IPDN graduates were the drivers of bureaucracy and determinants of development success in the region. Therefore, they are required to be able to make decisions, build coordination, and ensure that government policies really reach the community.
According to Prabowo, the village cadres cannot work alone. They must build relationships with the TNI, Polri, prosecutor's office, local government, ulama, entrepreneurs, traditional leaders, and community elements.
"Brothers should never be arrogant leaders. Build cooperation. Cooperation is the key to success," he said.
Prabowo also asked the apparatus to maintain discipline and not be trapped by group interests. The domestic government, he said, must be efficient, clean, and free of corruption so that the ideals of development do not stop as a plan.
He added that IPDN graduates will play an important role in the government in the future. Some of them are expected to fill strategic positions, including regional heads.
"In the next twenty-five years, it will be you who will run the real government," he said.
