Ten Best Graduates of IPDN Children of Workers and Farmers, Prabowo Soroti Meritocracy

SUMEDANG - President Prabowo Subianto highlighted the background of the ten best graduates of the IPDN XXXIII Class of 2026. All of them are said to come from modest families, including workers, farmers, and soldiers.

Prabowo assessed that the achievement showed that the IPDN selection was able to open the way for high-achieving participants without distinguishing family origins.

"Before I got on the podium, I received a report from the Minister of Home Affairs that the ten best graduates of this class all came from very simple families," said Prabowo at the inauguration of the Young Pamong Praja in Sumedang, West Java, Wednesday, July 29.

According to Prabowo, the results are proof that the selection system run by the Ministry of Home Affairs runs according to the principle of meritocracy.

"We want the selection to be right, the best sons and daughters of the nation, anyone's child," he said.

Prabowo said children from families of daily laborers or farmers must have the same opportunity to become government officials and leaders.

"If a daily laborer's child can graduate to become a Pamong Praja, who knows that one day he will become a great leader," he said.

He asked that the pattern of selection based on ability and achievement be maintained. According to Prabowo, the state must give space to anyone who is able to show integrity, discipline, courage, and dedication.

"Those who have achieved success, please come forward. This makes my heart proud," he said.

Prabowo also reminded the graduates not to make academic success an excuse for being arrogant. They are asked to stay close to the people and maintain the good name of the family, alma mater, and the country.
