Prabowo: Bureaucracy is entangled and corrupt apparatus destroys public trust

SUMEDANG - President Prabowo Subianto warned graduates of the Institute of State Administration (IPDN) not to become part of a bureaucratic mess. He emphasized that bad apparatuses not only damage personal names, but also destroy people's trust in the state.

Prabowo conveyed this message when he inaugurated the Pamong Praja Muda Angkatan XXXIII IPDN Year 2026 in Sumedang Regency, West Java, Wednesday, July 29.

"Our people don't need a bureaucratic mess. The people demand an apparatus that works honestly, disciplined, clean, not corrupt, is brave in making decisions, and is always present when the people need it," said Prabowo.

According to Prabowo, the position of the apparatus is not measured by rank or position. The measure is the benefit that is really felt by the community.

Prabowo asked the IPDN graduates to prioritize the interests of the people, not personal or group interests. They are also required to serve, protect, and care for the community wherever they are placed.

He reminded that every apparatus is the face of the country. Their attitude, appearance, and decisions will determine the public's assessment of the government.

"If you work well, the people will trust and love your country more. But if you disappoint the people, what is damaged is not only your name, but also the people's trust in the country," he said.

Prabowo also asked the people's servants to be brave when faced with difficult choices. Decisions must be directed to protect the weak, poor, and helpless people.

The President also gave guidelines to the village heads when faced with dilemmas in carrying out their duties. According to Prabowo, every decision must be measured by its benefits for the community, especially the most vulnerable groups.

"If you hesitate to make a decision, ask yourself, which is beneficial to the people. If you are sure that the choice is beneficial to the people, especially the weakest people, choose that way of acting. It won't be wrong," said Prabowo.
