BGN Bersih-Bersih MBG, Hundreds of Billions of Rupiah Successfully Saved

JAKARTA - The reform of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has managed to save hundreds of billions of rupiah of state funds after 414 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) were found to be problematic who had received disbursement of funds even though they had not operated or had a double virtual account.

Head of the Government Communication Agency (Bakom) Muhammad Qodari said the findings were the result of a thorough improvement to the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program carried out during the leadership of Nanik Sudaryati Deyang at BGN.

"BGN also found 414 SPPGs that had not yet operated, but had received budget disbursements or had duplicate virtual accounts so that hundreds of billions were successfully returned to the state treasury," Qodari said in his statement, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, July 28.

According to Qodari, the rescue of the budget is part of governance reform through 11 steps designed to strengthen accountability while improving the effectiveness of the implementation of the MBG program.

He explained that the improvement was initiated by an evaluation of almost 28,000 SPPGs throughout Indonesia. BGN also classified about 3,000 kitchens based on food quality and safety standards and organized the expansion of kitchen development by prioritizing lagging, leading, and outermost areas (3T).

In addition, BGN formed 11 reform teams tasked with strengthening the governance of the MBG program, directing the implementation of the program to the groups that need it most, and strengthening the organization through the involvement of professional personnel from various ministries and institutions.

"Under his leadership, BGN managed to accelerate the improvement of the governance of the MBG program through 11 reform steps," said Qodari.

Qodari added that the reform relay was now continued by Sudaryono after President Prabowo Subianto appointed the former Deputy Minister of Agriculture as the new Head of BGN.

According to him, the change of leadership is part of the government's efforts to continue to improve the implementation of the MBG program so that BGN is more agile, accountable, and able to respond quickly to various problems in the field.

"I also want to emphasize one thing. The change of leadership at BGN does not shift or even weaken the government's main commitment. The MBG program remains and will continue to be our best investment to achieve the great ambition of Indonesia's Gold 2045," said Qodari.
